I would like to invite you to review the ending speech of movie - The scent of woman (I think most of you already watched this movie). In this video, we clearly see how a young boy, Charlie, made a choice under a very difficult situation.

Undoubtedly, we made lots of little choices in our daily life which lead to our future. As a human being, we are the only animals who have the capability to choose, to choose the response on the triggered event. Animal simply reacts to the external event. Because of this great willpower we hold, we have ability to choose not to be angry, not to blame others, not to complain, not to be in other negative emotions; also we can choose to love, to forgive, to be gentle, to be humble, to stick to some basic principles, etc. All these form a path to a happier life.
